TUCSON, Ariz. — The 2013 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American team, selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper, features a wealth of baseball talent.

The team is headed by Collegiate Baseball’s Freshman Pitcher of The Year RHP Thomas Eshelman of Cal. St. Fullerton who only walked 2 batters in 107 2/3 innings while posting a 12-2 record and 1.59 ERA and Freshman Player of The Year SS Alex Bregman of Louisiana St. who hit .385 with 17 doubles, 7 triples, 6 homers and 52 RBI. He also stole 15 of 16 bases.

Here is a rundown on the 2013 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-Americans.

Starting Pitchers
RHP Thomas Eshelman, Cal. St. Fullerton: Named Freshman of The Year in the Big West and a first team Big West selection, Eshelman was also a first team Louisville Slugger All-American. He posted a 12-2 record with a 1.59 ERA. Incredibly, he only walked 2 batters in 107 2/3 innings and struck out 78.

RHP Andrew Moore, Oregon St.: A first team Pac-12 selection and Freshman Of The Year in the league, Moore was 13-1 with a 1.22 ERA and 3 complete games. He fanned 61 batters with 23 walks over 111 innings.

RHP Justin Garza, Cal. St. Fullerton: Named Pitcher of The Year in the Big West, Garza was 12-0 with a 1.92 ERA. He struck out 89 batters with 16 walks over 108 innings

LHP Ryan Kellogg, Arizona St.: A first team Pac-12 selection, Kellogg was 11-1 with a 3.15 ERA. He fanned 54 batters with 17 walks over 103 innings. He also threw a no-hitter against Oregon St.

LHP P.J. Conlon, San Diego: A first team West Coast pick, Conlon was 9-0 with a 1.65 ERA. He struck out 69 batters with 26 walks over 82 innings.

LHP Cole Irvin, Oregon: An Honorable Mention Pac-12 pick, Irvin was 12-3 with a 2.48 ERA and posted 4 complete games. He struck out 60 batters with 22 walks over 116 innings.

LHP Alex Godzak, Canisius: A second team Metro Atlantic selection and Rookie of The Year in the League, Godzak posted an 8-3 record, 3.36 ERA and struck out 66 with 30 walks in 83 innings.

LHP Evan Hill, Michigan: A member of the All-Big Ten Freshmen team, Hill was 7-3 with a 3.51 ERA and struck out 47 batters in 82 innings.

LHP Jack Wynkoop, South Carolina: A member of the SEC All-Freshmen Team, Wynkoop posted a 7-3 record with a 2.92 ERA. He had 36 strikeouts and 11 walks in 61 2/3 innings.

LHP Jacob Evans, Oklahoma: Evans was a second team Big 12 pick and posted a 7-2 record, 1.73 ERA and struck out 41 batters with 9 walks in 52 innings.

LHP Kevin Duchene, Illinois: Named Freshman of The Year in the Big Ten, Duchene was 9-1 with a 2.79 ERA and 68 strikeouts, 34 walks in 80 2/3 innings.

LHP Matthew Crownover, Clemson: Crownover posted a 7-3 record, 2.19 ERA and struck out 45 batters with 17 walks in 70 innings.

LHP Aaron Michel, Western Illinois: A second team Summit Conference pick, Michel was 4-2 with a 1.23 ERA and fanned 44 batters in 65 2/3 innings.

RHP Bryce Kingsley, McNeese St.: Named Freshman of The Year in the Southland, Kingsley was 8-6 with a 3.11 ERA and fanned 64 batters in 98 1/3 innings.

RHP Lucas Hampal, Texas St.: A second team Western Athletic Conference pick, Hampal was 5-2 with a 3.30 ERA and struck out 41 batters with 16 walks in 62 2/3 innings.

LHP Ryan Horstman, St. John’s: A third team Big East selection, Horstman posted a 6-6 record with a 2.33 ERA with 56 strikeouts in 65 2/3 innings.

RHP Blake Quinn, Fresno St.: Named Freshman of The Year in the Mountain West, he was 3-3 with a 3.02 ERA and struck out 34 in 50 2/3 innings.

RHP Brock Hartson, Texas-San Antonio: A second team Western Athletic Conference pick, Hartson posted a 9-5 record, 3.40 ERA and struck out 50 batters with 27 walks in 106 innings.

RHP David Lucroy, East Carolina: A second team Conference USA selection, Lucroy was 4-2 with a 2.49 ERA and struck out 82 batters with 42 walks in 72 1/3 innings.

RHP Garrett Brummett, Wichita St.: Brummett was 4-0 with a 1.16 ERA and struck out 24 batters in 38 2/3 innings.

RHP Jimmy Herget, South Florida: Named Rookie of The Year in the Big East, Herget was 6-2 with a 1.72 ERA and fanned 60 batters in 94 innings.

RHP Jon Harris, Missouri St.: Harris was 8-2 with a 3.87 ERA and struck out 61 batters with 31 walks in 76 2/3 innings.

RHP Michael Murray, Florida Gulf Coast: Named to the All-Freshmen Team in the Atlantic Sun, Murray was 5-1 with a 2.93 ERA and struck out 55 batters with 19 walks in 86 innings.

RHP Paul Mammino, Wagner: Mammino posted a 6-2 record, 3.53 ERA and struck out 41 batters in 71 1/3 innings.

RHP Ryan Burr, Arizona St.: An Honorable Mention Pac-12 pick, Burr was 4-2 with a 2.20 ERA and struck out 60 batters with 23 walks over 45 innings.

RHP Seth Lamando, Coastal Carolina: Named Freshman of The Year in the Big South, Lamando was 5-4 with a 4.15 ERA, 2 saves and struck out 59 in 60 2/3 innings.

RHP Tommy Strunc, Creighton: Named an Honorable Mention selection in the Missouri Valley, Strunc was 7-3 with a 4.14 ERA and struck out 55 batters in 71 2/3 innings.

RHP Anthony Kidston, Louisville: Kidston opened his college career with 14 2/3 innings without allowing a run. He was 5-0 with a 1.31 ERA and struck out 58 batters with 22 walks over 48 innings.

Relief Pitchers
Alex Young, Texas Christian: A second team Big 12 pick and member of the All-Freshmen Team, Young had 5 saves, was 7-4 with a 2.66 ERA and fanned 36 batters in 40 2/3 innings.

Dylan Hecht, U.C. Santa Barbara: A second team Big West pick, Hecht posted 9 saves with a 1.83 ERA and fanned 45 batters in 34 1/3 innings.

Garrett Cleavinger, Oregon: Cleavinger posted a 9-0 record with 2 saves, 1.24 ERA and struck out 57 batters in 43 2/3 innings.

Ian Gibaut, Tulane: A member of the All-Freshmen Conference USA team, Gibaut posted 12 saves with a 2.66 ERA and fanned 38 batters with 18 walks over 40 2/3 innings.

Jake Matthys, Kansas St.: Named Freshman of The Year in the Big 12 and a first team Big 12 selection, Matthys was 8-1 with 7 saves and a 2.13 ERA. He struck out 35 batters with 8 walks over 50 2/3 innings.

Ray Castillo, Alabama: A member of the SEC All-Freshmen Team, Castillo posted 12 saves with a 3.38 ERA and struck out 43 batters in 42 2/3 innings.

Sutter McLoughlin, Sacramento St.: A first team pick in the Western Athletic Conference, McLoughlin posted 17 saves with a 2.11 ERA and struck out 26 batters in 38 1/3 innings.

Ben Hartz, Buffalo: Hartz recorded 6-1 record with 1 save, 2.01 ERA and struck out 19 in 40 1/3 innings.

Blake Fox, Rice: A member of the All-Freshmen Team in Conference USA, Fox was 6-0 with 1 save, 3.41 ERA and struck out 23 batters in 37 innings.

Bubba Derby, San Diego St.: A second team Mountain West selection, Derby posted 10 saves with a 4-3 record, 3.79 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 35 2/3 innings.

Carson Fulmer, Vanderbilt: A member of the All-Freshmen Team in the SEC, Fulmer posted 4 saves with a 3-0 record, 2.66 ERA and fanned 49 batters in 47 1/3 innings.

James Kaprielian, UCLA: Kaprielian posted 2 saves with a 1.46 ERA and fanned 50 batters with 21 walks over 37 innings.

Mason Klotz, S.E. Louisiana: Klotz posted 11 saves with a 3-0 record, 2.63 ERA and struck out 37 batters in 41 innings.

Scott Effross, Indiana: Named to the Big Ten All-Freshmen Team, Effross posted 5 saves with a 6-1 record, 1.97 ERA and struck out 33 batters over 59 1/3 innings.

Skylar Hunter, The Citadel: A member of the All-Freshmen team in the Southern Conference, Hunter posted 13 saves and struck out 44 batters in 35 1/3 innings.

Tim Knesnik, Stony Brook: Named to the America East second team and an All-Rookie pick in the league, Knesnik was 4-1 with 1 save, 3.73 ERA and struck out 28 batters in 41 innings.

Trent Thornton, North Carolina: A second team Atlantic Coast Conference pick, Thornton was 9-1 with 8 saves, 1.17 ERA and struck out 71 batters with 12 walks in 77 innings.

Zac Favre, Central Florida: An All-Freshmen selection in Conference USA, he posted 4 saves with a 3-2 record, 3.28 ERA and struck out 55 batters in 49 1/3 innings.

Kyle Funkhouser, Louisville: Funkhouser was 5-1 with a 2.25 ERA as he struck out 51 batters with 23 walks in 52 innings. He opened his college career with 18 consecutive innings without allowing a run.

Catchers
Anthony Hermelyn, Oklahoma: An Honorable Mention All-Big 12 pick and a member of the All-Freshmen Team, Hermelyn hit .285 with 6 doubles and 26 RBI.

Mitch Ghelfi, Milwaukee: Named Freshman of the Year in the Horizon League, Ghelfi hit .322 with 11 doubles, 1 triple, 3 homers and 19 RBI.

C/1B Josh Estill, Purdue: An All-Freshmen selection in the Big Ten, Estill hit .281 with 9 doubles, 1 home run, 22 RBI and 4 stolen bases.

First Basemen
Patrick Mazeika, Stetson: Mazeika was chosen Freshman of The Year in the Atlantic Sun Conference and hit .382 with 3 homers, 11 doubles, 2 triples and 33 RBI.

Justin Montemayor, Houston: Named Freshman of The Year in Conference USA, Montemayor hit .329 with 3 homers, 10 doubles and 27 RBI.

Eric Gutierrez, Texas Tech: Gutierrez hit .251 with 7 homers, 10 doubles and 29 RBI.

Second Basemen
Clayton Taylor, Nebraska-Omaha: A second team Summit League selection, Taylor hit .352 with 8 doubles, 18 RBI and 8 stolen bases.

Kenny Hostrander, Eastern Kentucky: Named to the All-Freshman Team in the Ohio Valley Conference, Hostrander hit .298 with 15 doubles and 28 RBI. He also swiped 4 bases.

Matt Gonzalez, Georgia Tech.: Gonzalez hit .291 with 3 homers, 9 doubles, 37 RBI and swiped 10 of 14 bases.

Sam Haggerty, New Mexico: Named Freshman of The Year in the Mountain West and a second team league selection, Haggerty hit .280 with 9 doubles, 5 triples and 32 RBI.

Third Basemen
Nick Rivera, Florida Gulf Coast: A member of the Atlantic Sun All-Freshmen Team, Rivera hit .287 with 8 homers, 14 doubles and 34 RBI.

Tyler Mautner, Buffalo: Mautner hit 23 doubles this season for Buffalo in addition to hitting 2 homers, .295 and collecting 35 RBI.

Alan Mocahbee, Morehead St.: A member of the All-Freshmen Team in the Ohio Valley Conference, Mocahbee hit .250 with 7 homers, 9 doubles and 36 RBI.

Doug Teegarden, Eastern Kentucky: A member of the Ohio Valley All-Freshmen Team, Teegarden hit .287 with 11 doubles, 29 RBI and swiped 5 bases.

Johnny Caputo, Stony Brook: A second team America East selection, Caputo hit .271 with 5 triples, 10 doubles, 20 RBI and swiped 5 bases.

Mitchell Tolman, Oregon: Tolman hit .315 with 9 doubles and 35 RBI for the Ducks.

Mylz Jones, CSU Bakersfield: A second team Western Athletic Conference pick, Jones hit .333 with 11 doubles and 37 RBIs.

Xavier Turner, Vanderbilt: A member of the All-SEC Freshmen Team, Turner hit .327 with 10 doubles, 33 RBI and 20 SB.

Alex Bregman, LSU: A first team SEC selection and Freshman of The Year in the league, Bregman hit .385 with 17 doubles, 7 triples, 6 homers and 52 RBI. He also stole 15 of 16 bases.

Kevin Newman, Arizona: A first team Pac-12 selection, Newman had a superb year defensively as he only committed 6 errors in 55 games. Offensively, he hit .336 with 6 doubles, 3 triples and 42 RBI. Newman also had 11 stolen bases.

Blake Trahan, La.-Lafayette: Named Freshman of The Year in the Sun Belt and a second team league selection, Trahan hit .319 with 10 doubles, 4 homers and 38 RBI. He also had 13 stolen bases.

Kal Simmons, Kennesaw St.: A first team Atlantic Sun pick, Simmons hit .289 with 11 doubles and 27 RBI.

Kevin Lachance, Md.-Balt. County: A second team America East pick and a member of the All-Rookie Team, Lachance hit .303 with 12 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run and 19 RBI. He also had 13 stolen bases.

Kyle Brooks, North Florida: A second team Atlantic Sun selection and member of the All-Freshmen Team, Brooks hit .307 with 7 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs and 20 RBI. He also swiped 6 bases.

Travis Maezes, Michigan: A member of the Big Ten All-Freshmen Team, Maezes hit .313 with 10 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs and 44 RBI. He also swiped 16 bases.

Tyler Leffler, Bradley: Leffler hit .311 with 12 doubles and 24 RBI.

Jacob Hannemann, Brigham Young: A first team West Coast pick and Freshman of The Year in the league, Hannemann hit .344 with 16 doubles, 7 triples, 5 homers and 29 RBI. He also swiped 14 bases.

Skye Bolt, North Carolina: A second team ACC pick, Bolt hit .341 with 13 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, 49 RBI and swiped 10 bases.

Austin Listi, Dallas Baptist: A second team Western Athletic conference selection, Listi hit .285 with 16 doubles, 9 homers and 46 RBI.

A.J. Zarozny, Bryant: Named Rookie of The Year in the Northeast Conference, Zarozny hit .358 with 14 doubles, 2 homers and 28 RBI. He also had 10 stolen bases.

Donnie Dewees, North Florida: Named to the Atlantic Sun second team, Dewees hit .347 with 19 doubles, 3 triples and 5 home runs. He also collected 47 RBI.

Josh Merrigan, Georgia St.: The Rookie of The Year in the Colonial Conference who was a second team league pick hit .353 with 15 doubles, 5 triples, 4 home runs and 36 RBI. He also had 12 stolen bases.

Mendez Elder, Savannah St.: Named Rookie of The Year in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Elder hit .306 with 7 2B, 1 HR, 23 RBI and stole 10 of 14 bases.

Dillon Cooper, Alabama St.: Named Freshman of The Year in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, Cooper hit .301 with 12 doubles, 3 homers and 26 RBI.

Jack Parenty, Stony Brook: A first team America East pick and Rookie of The Year in the league, Parenty hit .333 with 6 doubles, 1 triple, and 17 RBI.

Jaylin Davis, Appalachian St.: The Southern Conference Freshman of The Year hit .257 with 12 doubles, 4 triples, 4 homers and 36 RBI. He also had 12 stolen bases.

Kyle Nowlin, Eastern Kentucky: The Rookie of The Year in the Ohio Valley hit .295 with 7 doubles, 1 triple, 3 homers and 26 RBI with 17 stolen bases.

Kyle Survance, Houston: A second team Conference USA pick, Survance hit .299 with 4 doubles, 2 triples, 20 RBI and 20 stolen bases.

Steven Duggar, Clemson: Duggar hit .300 with 10 doubles, 2 triples, 2 homers and 30 RBI. He also swiped 15 bases.

Tanner Stanley, Richmond: A first team Atlantic-10 pick and Rookie of The Year in the league, Stanley hit .308 with 17 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run and 38 RBI.

Tate Matheny, Missouri St.: Named Freshman of the Year in the Missouri Valley and a second team league pick, Matheny hit .336 with 14 doubles, 1 triple, 4 homers and 26 RBI.

Tyler Spoon, Arkansas: Spoon hit .288 with 7 doubles, 4 homers and 49 RBI.

Multiple Position Athletes
Corbin Olmstead, North Florida: A member of the All-Freshmen team in the Atlantic Sun, Olmstead hit .307 with 4 doubles, 3 triples and 19 RBI. On the mound, he compiled 6 saves, 4-1, 2.81 ERA and 44 strikeouts.

Jacob Cronenworth, Michigan: Cronenworth hit .320 with 12 doubles, 2 triples, 2 homers and 41 RBI. On the mound, he recorded 7 saves, 1.93 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings.

Kevin Fagan, Stetson: A member of the Atlantic Sun All-Freshmen Team, Fagan hit .275 with 3 doubles, 3 triples and 25 RBI. On the mound, he recorded 2 saves, 2-2, 2.28 ERA and struck out 24 batters in 27 2/3 innings.

Matt Rose, Georgia St.: A member of the All-Rookie team in the Colonial Conference, Rose hit .283 with 8 doubles, 4 homers and 32 RBI. On the mound, he recorded 5 saves, 3-2, 2.55 ERA and struck out 30 batters in 35 1/3 innings.

Brian Mundell, Cal Poly: Mundell hit .265 with 11 homers, 6 doubles, 2 triples and 42 RBI.

Chris Lewis, Sacramento St.: A first team Western Athletic Conference pick as well as Freshman of The Year in the league, Lewis hit .349 with 15 doubles, 1 triple, 4 homers and 46 RBI. He also reached base in 30 consecutive games during the 2013 season.

Jarrard Poteete, Texas Tech.: An honorable mention Big 12 pick as well as a member of the All-Freshmen team in the league, Poteete hit .280 with 10 doubles, 3 homers and 25 RBI.

Joe Purritano, Dartmouth: Named Rookie of The Year in the Ivy League and a first team Ivy League selection, Purritano hit .343 with 6 doubles, 3 triples, 5 homers and 30 RBI.

Landon Lassiter, North Carolina: Lassiter hit .352 with 12 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run and 27 RBI. He also swiped 8 bases.

Paschal Petrongolo, Jacksonville St.: Named to the All-Freshmen team in the Ohio Valley Conference, Petrongolo hit .262 with 7 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs and 33 RBI.

R.J. Ybarra, Arizona St.: Ybarra hit .313 with 7 doubles, 5 homers and 22 RBI.
