Amazing Accomplishments 3-13-17

- LHP Brendan McKay, Louisville: McKay had a career-high 15 strikeouts while allowing only two hits in seven shutout innings during a 3-0 win over Pittsburgh.
- RHP Eli Morgan, Gonzaga: Morgan struck out a career-high 15 batters in a complete game shutout at Cal. St. Fullerton. He faced just one 3-ball count all night and never allowed a Titan baserunner to reach second base.
- LHP Colton Harlow, James Madison: Harlow recorded a career-high 15 strikeouts during a complete-game, 12-1 win over Coppin St. His strikeout total was more than double his previous high (7) and one away from the JMU all-time record of 16. He did not a walk a batter and allowed five hits.
- LHP Carson Teel, Oklahoma State: Teel came out of the bullpen and recorded a pair of wins last week for the Cowboys. Over nine innings, he struck out 15 batters and allowed one run on four hits and one walk.
- 3B Taylor Schwaner, Southeastern Louisiana: Schwaner belted 4 home runs as he went 8-for-16 on the week. He also hit one double, one triple and registered 11 RBI with 6 runs scored and stole a pair of bases.
- OF Lorenzo Arcuri, Youngstown State: Arcuri hit 4 home runs and knocked in 9 runs with 6 runs scored as he hit .412.
- INF Rylan Thomas, Central Florida: Thomas hit 4 home runs and recorded 12 RBI over three games. He also picked up a win on the mound, throwing a scoreless ninth inning against Central Michigan.
- LHP Gunner Leger, Louisiana-Lafayette: Leger came within one batter of throwing a no-hitter during a 10-0 win over Saint Peter’s. He took his no-hit bid into the ninth inning, and with two outs pinch hitter Brian Turton blooped a single to centerfield to pick up the only hit of the night for the Peacocks. Leger recorded a season-high 9 strikeouts over 8 2/3 innings.
- LHP Jared Poché: Poché improved to 4-0 after recording seven shutout innings against Wichita St. during a 12-5 win. He has not allowed a run in 29 innings this season, the second-best streak in school history. LSU’s longest scoreless streak was established by Ben McDonald in 1989 when he threw 44 2/3 consecutive scoreless frames.
- LHP David Peterson, Oregon: Peterson struck out 14 batters over 7 1/3 scoreless innings during a 2-1 win over Santa Clara. He allowed three hits and one walk. Over the past two weeks, he hasn’t allowed a run in 15 1/3 innings and has struck out 31 and walked only one.
