ARKANSAS NO. 1 IN COLLEGIATE BASEBALL POLL
TUCSON, Ariz. — Arkansas (42-10) is ranked No. 1 for the 10th time this season in Collegiate Baseball’s NCAA Division I baseball poll presented by Big League Chew bubble gum.
The Razorbacks, the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Southeastern Conference tournament with a 22-8 league record, swept a 3-game series at home against Florida over the past weekend and have won four straight and seven of their last eight games.
Arkansas has belted 89 home runs in 52 games led by five players who have hit 12 or more. The Hogs have also hit 86 doubles, 10 triples and walked 290 times (5.5 per game) with 61 hit by pitches for an on-base percentage of .391. Arkansas is averaging 7.7 runs per game.
As far as pitching, the staff has struck out 543 batters with only 181 walks.
In key series across the nation, Tennessee won two of three at South Carolina, Arizona took two of three at Oregon St., Stanford won two of three at Oregon, Notre Dame won three at Virginia Tech., Miami (Fla.) swept a 3-game series at Louisville, N.C. State won two of three at home against Florida St. and Georgia Tech. won two of three at home against North Carolina.
Three teams fell out of the top 30 this week in Louisville (lost 6 of last 7), Grand Canyon (2-2 last week) and Florida St. (1-2). New to the poll is Nebraska (8 straight wins, first in the Big Ten at 29-11), Miami, Fla. (second in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division at 20-15 after a 3-game sweep at Louisville) and Connecticut (7 consecutive victories).
Poll Notes: Several teams have been red-hot. Virginia Commonwealth has won 18 straight, Nebraska 8 in a row while Fairfield and Connecticut have won 7 consecutive.

RHP Austin Love, North Carolina: Love struck out a career-high 15 batters during a 7-4 win over Georgia Tech with a 9-inning complete game. He didn’t walk a batter
C Hunter Goodman, Memphis: Goodman hit 4 homers over 4 games which included a grand slam as he collected 7 RBI, scored 4 runs and accounted for 17 total bases as he went 5-for-15.
RHP Jimmy Borzone, Dixie St.: Borzone recorded 14 strikeouts over seven innings against Northern Colorado.
LHP Cooper Hjerpe, Oregon St.: Hjerpe limited hard-hitting Arizona to just two hits and a run as he struck out a career-high 11 as he picked up the win against the Wildcats.

RHP Winston Cannon, Tennessee-Martin: Cannon fanned a career-high 11 Southeast Missouri batters over 5 2/3 innings and became the first Skyhawk to pile up at least 11 strikeouts since the 2017 season.
CF Mitch McIntyre, Brigham Young: McIntyre hit 3 home runs as he went 9-for-19 at the plate with a double and 6 walks as he posted an on-base percentage of .682. He also scored 9 runs and collected 5 RBI while posting 19 total bases.
RHP Will Warren, Southeastern Louisiana: Warren held Houston Baptist to a pair of singles over eight innings and struck out 11 batters. It marked the fourth time Warren had recorded double-digit strikeouts this season.
LF Cody Littlejohn, Tennessee Tech.: Littlejohn went 10-for-18 at the plate with 3 homers, 2 doubles, a triple, 7 runs scored and 8 RBI over four games last week.
RHP Kumar Rocker, Vanderbilt: Rocker struck out 11 Kentucky batters over 7 innings and only allowed 3 hits and 2 walks.
1B Bailey Peterson, Michigan St.: Peterson hit 3 home runs and one double as he went 6-for-14 at the plate in three games with 8 RBI.
