ARKANSAS NO. 1 IN COLLEGIATE BASEBALL POLL
TUCSON, Ariz. — Arkansas (46-10) is ranked No. 1 for the 11th time this season in Collegiate Baseball’s NCAA Division I baseball poll presented by Big League Chew bubble gum.
The Razorbacks, winners of eight straight, captured the Southeastern Conference Tournament over the weekend with victories over Georgia, Vanderbilt, Mississippi and Tennessee. Arkansas also is the regular-season SEC champion.
Arkansas has hit 93 home runs in 56 games to rank third in the nation. The Razorbacks also have hit 90 doubles, 11 triples, walked 321 times and been hit by pitches 64 times for an on-base percentage of .392. The pitching staff has struck out 586 batters and walked 197 times.
Three teams fell out of the top 30 this week in Fairfield (2-2 last week), Michigan (1-2) and Gonzaga (1-2). New to the poll is Duke (winner of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, 12 straight wins), Central Michigan (8 consecutive wins, Mid-American Conference champs) and Old Dominion (winner of the Conference USA tournament, 7 wins in a row).
Poll Notes: Virginia Commonwealth continues to roll with 21 straight wins and a 37-14 overall record.

RHP John Baker, Ball St.: Baker struck out 17 batters and won two games in a single day as Ball St. swept Miami (Ohio). Baker was the winning pitcher in relief during a 1-0 victory in game one. Later that day, he pitched a complete game, 8-inning victory with 14 strikeouts during a 12-2 win.
RHP Ben Casparius, Connecticut: Casparius struck out 13 batters in 7 shutout innings during a 2-0 win over Creighton during the Big East Tournament. On the season, he has fanned 123 batters which is the second most strikeouts in UConn history during one season.
OF Towns King, Samford: King hit 3 home runs over 3 games during the Southern Conference Tournament as he collected 9 RBI, scored 4 runs and went 6-for-11 at the plate. He was named tournament MVP.
RHP Brendan Beck, Stanford: Beck fired a 3-hit complete game against Oregon St. during a 1-0 win with 10 strikeouts. He retired the side in order six of the nine frames with only two runners reaching scoring position.
OF Clayton Rasbeary, McNeese St.: Rasbeary was the MVP of the Southland Conference Tournament as he belted 3 home runs, scored 5 runs and collected 6 RBI as he went 5-for-12.
CF Bryce Teodosio, Clemson: In just two games during the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, Teodosio went 5-for-8 with 2 homers, 2 triples, a double and 7 RBI. All five of his hits went for extra bases.
