Collegiate Baseball Div 1 Poll (6-10-19)

VANDERBILT NO. 1 IN COLLEGIATE BASEBALL POLL

TUCSON, Ariz. — Vanderbilt (54-11) is ranked No. 1 in the latest Collegiate Baseball NCAA Div. I baseball poll presented by Big League Chew.  

The Commodores, winners of 30 of their last 32 games, won the Nashville Super Regional. Vanderbilt is hitting .318 as a team with 93 homers (third in the nation).

Twelve different players have belted home runs this season. Vanderbilt is No. 1 in the USA in hits (728), No. 2 in runs (550), No. 2 in doubles (157) and averaging 8.5 runs per game.

UCLA, ranked No. 1 for the previous nine weeks, was upset in the Los Angeles Super Regional by Michigan. The Wolverines jumped from 16th in last week’s poll to No. 8 this week while the Bruins fell to No. 9.

The eight teams that qualified for the College World Series are ranked 1-8 this week.

The Collegiate Baseball newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll. Its birth took place during the 1959 college baseball season.
