FLORIDA NO. 1 IN COLLEGIATE BASEBALL POLL
TUCSON, Ariz. — The University of Florida (43-9) is ranked No.1 for the 12th time this season in the Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division I baseball poll presented by Big League Chew bubble gum.
The Gators won two of three at home against Vanderbilt over the past weekend and lead the Southeastern Conference with an 18-8 record.
In key series over the past week, Texas A&M won two of three at South Carolina, Florida State lost two of three at Duke, Louisville swept a three-game series at home against N.C. State, Mississippi State won three straight at Auburn, Virginia won two of three at home against Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State lost two of three against Oklahoma, Texas Christian lost two of three at Baylor, Washington lost two of three at home to Washington State, Cal. State Fullerton won two of three at U.C. Santa Barbara, Arizona State won two of three at Arizona, Mississippi won three straight at home against Kentucky, LSU swept a three-game series at Tennessee, Louisiana-Lafayette won two of three at South Alabama and Dallas Baptist won two of three at home against Missouri State.
Poll Notes: Several teams of been hot lately. Mississippi State and LSU have won eight in a row, Kent State seven consecutive, Miami (Fla.) six straight and Louisville five in a row.
Four teams fell out of the top 30 this week including Georgia Tech (2-3 last week), U.C. Santa Barbara (1-3), Michigan (0-4) and Creighton (1-3). New to the top 30 is Louisiana-Lafayette (33-19), Kent State (39-11), Dallas Baptist (34-16) and Clemson (34-18).

NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
- LHP Eric Lauer, Kent State: Lauer threw the 11th no-hitter in school history during a 14-0 win over Bowling Green. He tied a career-high with 13 strikeouts and did not allow a walk. The only base runner Bowling Green had reached on an error in the third inning.
- 3B Trevor Craport, Georgia Tech: Craport belted four home runs with 5 RBI over 5 games. He scored six runs and was 6-for-18 at the plate. Craport tripled his season home run output in the span of those 5 games.
- LHP Colin Poche, Dallas Baptist: Poche struck out a career-high 14 batters over 6 innings during a 9-5 win over Missouri State. He was two strikeouts shy of the single-game Dallas Baptist strikeout record.
- LF Blake Benefield, Middle Tennesse State: Benefield was 10-for-18 with 14 RBI, three home runs and two doubles over four games.
- LHP Tyler Wilson, Rhode Island: Wilson recorded a career-high 13 strikeouts during a win over Massachusetts. He didn’t give up an earned run and walked only one as he fired a 9-inning complete game. He took a no-hitter into the 8th inning before seeing his streak of 14 1/3 consecutive innings without allowing a hit snapped.
- C Michael Curry, Georgia: Curry blasted 4 home runs with 7 RBI last week over four games. He went 8-for-14 at the plate.
